Ilocos Norte receives aid from partners, continues to call for donations

Ilocos Norte is receiving aid from the province's partners to provide additional support to sectors and communities amidst the enhanced community quarantine due to the global spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

In previous days, various essential equipment for frontline workers were donated to the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte.

Together with Ilocos Norte 2nd District Congressman Angelo Marcos Barba, Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc distributed relief supplies to nether communities in the province.

Meanwhile, Northpoint Alliance Motors Corporation head, Mr. Hanson Chua, donated mist sprayers to be used for disinfecting and sanitizing building and goods. Mr. Kyrie Pugong of Blue Sky Furnishing donated hammocks as comfortable resting equipment.

Savemore Supermarket of SM Corporation likewise donated food packs to aid indigent families.

The Bangui District Hospital also donated a biological safety cabinet to Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMH&MC) in the City of Batac.

Furthermore, Ilokano couturier Ms. Amor Albano also made some personal protective equipment to be used by medical frontliners and health personnel.

Even with the present amount of help, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte continues to request additional aid from its other partners to support the basic needs of all sectors and communities. 

In its recent announcement, PGIN called on the public to donate materials for improvised face shield, such as acetate plastic, garter, grommet set, foam, and velcro tape, among others. Moreover, MMMH&MC has pleaded volunteer doctors, nurses, and medical workers for help.
